Vintage Wedding Inspiration at 4 Hamilton Place
4 Hamilton Place, Park Lane was the perfect backdrop for this vintage tea party inspired shoot. Vintage, that term oozes old world charm, style, and sophistication and when combined with infusions of French renaissance details, sets the stage for some ultra elegant inspiration for the modern, romantic bride on the morning of her wedding with her bridesmaids. I’ve always loved the vintage style and wanted to do a project to showcase how this style can be applied to weddings.
Far too often in the wedding planning process, we overlook the morning of the wedding, that period where you are set to tie the knot. I know wedding mornings are filled with activity after activity as you prepare for your day. There is hair, makeup, styling and getting dressed, pre-wedding shots and the list goes on.
In the midst of all that activity, you need to pause for some breakfast (this is one of the tips I share in my wedding day checklist), spend time with your friends, some of whom you probably haven’t caught up with for some time, and reflect on your life as a singleton before finally walking down the aisle. I created this shoot for some inspiration for a stress-free wedding morning.
Our bride, safe in the knowledge that every detail is being taken care of by her wedding planner, is relaxed and enjoying spending time with her friends, having some tea, vintage style, before going off to meet her beloved and say I do. Her maids, dressed in soft voile dusky pink gowns with lace details on the bodice so reminiscent of the French, are getting ready with her.
The glam squad of OAH Makeup and Kouture Locs were on hand to get our models looking fresh and on point for the shoot. I wanted the girls to look fresh-eyed with subtle makeup that accentuated their features without being overpowering, for that understated elegant look. The hair was in French buns for the girls and a chic sleek tight chignon style updo for our bride which showed off her handmade Swarovski crystal encrusted tiara by Victoria Millesime, gracefully.
Bonita Bridal, provided the bespoke French jacquard wedding dress with a small bodice bow, that fitted our bride like a glove. Lauren of Oh Wonder Calligraphy supplied the hand written menu and place cards, that added an extra flourish to our morning table. Mrs Jones China Hire provided all the beautifully mismatched vintage crockery and cutlery that added great layers to our fresh tablescape with the exception of the gold luxe charger plates provided by HollAa events which added a luxe feel to our table setting.
Gorgeous blooms of fragrant English roses and carnations, carefully hand sourced by Beverley Wilson floral design, filled the room with their sweet smelling nectars, and added an extra dimension to our tablescape. The Little Cake Garden completed our table with dainty selections of hand piped macaroons and cupcakes in colours ranging from lilac to green and a super gorgeous 3 tier mint green buttercream cake with gold accents and dainty hand piped sugar flowers in pale pink which looked far too good to eat!
Cynthia of Alegrar Events planned and managed the whole shoot with styling by both her and Mrs Jones China. Amanda of Amanda Karen Photography was on hand to capture every beautiful detail, working meticulously through each segment, with 4 Hamilton Place playing the perfect host to our vintage inspired shoot. Whether it’s hen party or wedding inspiration you’re after, I hope you find as much inspiration from this shoot as we had creating it.
