Drake and Morgan’s Wedding Showcase at the Fable
Have you ever walked into a Drake and Morgan venue? They literally transport you to a bygone era. I’ve been to the Fable at Holborn and the Drake and Morgan at Kings Cross and both transport me to an era every time I walk in.
They are the sort of venues that take you to a bygone, antique and vintage era but are still in touch with our modern day. They are quirky, contemporary and yet traditional all at the same time. It’s got that ‘old world meets new world’ charm as I like to call it.
Walking in, you find high ceilings with large industrial type pipes running through them, quirky geometric shapes as candle holders on the tables, cone-shaped cylindrical light fixtures, old books on bookshelves, comfy lounge areas as well as the more contemporary sitting and eating areas. Concrete and wooden floors, and lots of space!
It’s floor to ceiling windows brings in lots of natural light that is perfect for photographs. The feeling of warmth the venues exude as you walk in is unmistakable too. It’s almost like an at home feeling. A feeling of being at home in such a relaxed, chilled out and contemporary space. What’s not to like?
They’re great venues for weddings too if you’re looking for something a lot more relaxed and yet exudes a sense of rustic elegance. The wedding showcase took place at the Fable last week and it was great!
I attended the showcase as a guest and meet lots of suppliers each unique in their own right. From photographers and videographers to party entertainers (photo booths, singers and balloon artists) to stylists, stationers, hair and makeup artists to artisan cake designers, confectioners, and up and coming bridal gown designers.
There were also jewellery specialists and childcare companies to look after the little ones whilst you enjoy the wedding day. It was a good showcase. A first for the Drake and Morgan group I believe and it was such a success. Well done to the planning team who pulled it off as the place brimmed with of lots inspiration. And was well attended too despite the not-so-great weather!
I’m sure that brides and grooms who attended walked away brimming with lots of inspiration and new ideas as I did. Here are some of the images I managed to capture at the showcase (on my IPad, might I add so excuse the quality!)
I hope they inspire your wedding planning and if you need help with any aspect of your planning then do reach out to me, I’d love to help.
Beautiful and simple chic stationery by Dimitria Jordan – with florals and metallics glitter for the inside envelopes – so on trend and a great way to incorporate some gold into your wedding.
Artisan buttercream naked cakes by Hannah of Butter Beautiful decorated with fresh flowers by Boom and Blooms or drip cakes are a huge trend in 2017. As is the donut wall, great talking point for your guests and a good way to have a relaxed and chilled out wedding day with your guests.
Stylist, Bride and Beau, designed this simple and yet elegant design for your tablescape with lots of candlelight, fresh flowers and geometric shaped holders for your candles. The geometric holders add layers and dimension to your tablescape design and can be found in gold, copper or rose gold.
Flowers are always a great addition to any celebration and Ricky Paul did a fab job of pulling these together. I love fresh flowers and they add a whole new dimension to your celebration plus they smell divine too! Pair white dahlias and orchids with green foliage (a great way to incorporate Pantone’s colour of the year, greenery into your wedding) for that fresh natural look to your day.
I hope these images are enough inspiration to help get your wedding planning into gear.
